Jerry Jackson is the reknowned Creator and Choreographer of the world famous Folies Bergere which appeared at the Tropicana Hotel for 50 years in Las Vegas. Terry sculpted a piece entitled 'Express Yourself' depicting one of Jerry's poses. It was finished in Onyx black and costumed in miniature replica from Mr. Jackson's original costume design. Jerry, a true Renaissance man designed the sets, arranged the music, designed the costumes, did graphic illustrations, conceived the production, and choreographed the show ... a truely legendary accomplishment. What's even more impressive, he touched the lives of everyone who worked for him. He inspired Terry to become the artist she is today always being there to support her 100% with words of encouragement and praise. This was Terry's gift of appreciation to Jerry from one artist to another. Terry has begun her full scale "Folies in Flight" mural! Recently, the airport commission approved the second stage progress meeting. It was so exciting as the finished scale model was unveiled!! OOh's and aaah's all around!!! It really was beautiful and the pictures of Terry working on the actual full size mural along with the engineering drawings really brought the project to reality. It is no longer a concept. This piece will be one of the first experiences for international travelers when they arrive in Las Vegas and one of the focal points of the new terminal. The new International Terminal at McCarran is now in full swing with it's construction off Russel Rd. on the east side of the airport adjacent to the D terminal. Everyone is excited that the fabulous era of the lavish production show will be preserved for years to come with Terry's 50 foot mural for all to see!! Terry recently began adding sculpture to her repertoire of talents! These are her first pieces which she is currently working on casting into molds. The pieces she's working on represent the Spirit of Dance as a means of expressing the joy of life. Terry's sculptures give her the opportunity to express her expert knowledge of the body lines in dance having spent a good portion of her professional life as a dancer on the Las Vegas Strip. The sculptures also give her an opportunity as an artist to work with the figures she paints in a three dimensional medium. |
